Hi! First post. I'm trying to work things out still.
I'd like to post small little posts about my life and things I like to do. I volunteer at a small used book store where I list books on their website. I see a lot of different kinds of books of varying ages, from 18th century bibles to last year's literature.
Recently I've been interested in medieval manuscripts and how they were made. From buying used books to making pinterest boards on the topic. Today I listed an edition of a historical fiction novel I read a few years ago, that had an interesting cover, featuring a painting by the Limbourg brothers. Three brothers from Nijmegen who started their careers as teenagers, contracted by nobles and royalty to illuminate their manuscripts. Les Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry is a famous example, full of vivid illustrations, unusually lifelike for the period.
It's always fun to learn new things and to be able to put them to use in your life, no matter how insignificant.
